Animal Habitats

We are having so much fun learning about where different species live, what they need to survive, how they camoflauge themselves, and more. Please enjoy my unit of ten lesson plans about Animal Habitats on Teacherspayteachers. My students are enjoying it very much, and we have started a butterfly garden in our schoolyard. The children are taking such good care of our garden plants, to create a wonderful habitat for butterflies!

The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle

Spring is here and it is time to plant seeds! First graders are natural scientists, and it is so exciting to see the zinnia seeds sprouting in our classroom. We are recording the progress of our seeds by drawing a picture and writing a sentence in our science journal every morning when we get to school. We are also exploring the artwork of Eric Carle and loving his book The Tiny Seed. I have integrated reading and science together, which makes learning about the seasons and growing plants even more fun. Check out my lesson plan on teacherspayteachers here:
